May Salon Feature 'Allure Nails and Beauty'

May Salon Feature

Our May Salon feature is all about the lovely Lucy Horler and Allure Nails and Beauty.

With a background in telesales Lucy’s background is far from the expert in nails that she is today. After being diagnosed with MS and being made redundant Lucy fell pregnant with her ‘little toad’ (her name for her little boy - not mine!) and it was the search for a hobby that led Lucy to look into nails!

“Other than Ollie I had no hobbies, I just had my baby brain so I started to find a hobby that I could do and keep my brain occupied. I have always loved doing my nails so looked for a course.”

It seems from then on Lucy was hooked! Doing tons of research into the different courses out there she took on learning gel polish, acrylics, hard gel, nail art, one stroke and an e-file course!

“I felt alive and had a thirst for knowledge. I was permanently on you tube finding out different ways to do things, I didn't realise there was that many different nail shapes and how many different nail arts there are! I never want to stop learning!”

Having always loved nails it was her thirst for learning more that encouraged her into other areas, training in waxing, lash lifting, tinting, tanning and eyelash extensions and going back to college to complete an NVQ Level 2 to bring it all together! It was then that she found The Creative Beauty Group family, with special help and a Gel II® conversion course from former EE Lisa Young!

“I found TCBG family and did a Gel II conversion course which gave me so many hints and tips. It was all about empowerment and helping each other without any brand snobbery. I've always taken people at face value and don't care if you have £1 in the bank or £1million in the bank, I will treat you the same and that's how I feel TCBG are.” (stop it we’re blushing)

Now that she has paused her thirst for learning for the time being Lucy has started to develop Allure Nails and Beauty a little more and as of August last year has pushed herself, having the confidence to show the world what she can do! Getting busier by word of mouth and through Facebook Lucy is already thinking of building an orangery on to the side of her house to support her growing business whilst still managing family life!

“I’m loving it and I can choose my hours that I work which means I can manage my family life and my MS. I love what I'm doing so it never feels like work.”

Working on her own currently Lucy has a close knit network of beauty friends that she works with and she specialises in nails, waxing and brows! Her motto is “My clients are worth it” making sure each client gets the most out of her time, providing the best products including Gel II, Entity, Lashnv, Exposed spray tan and treating her clients occasionally to little extras such as free cuticle oils, free nail art and relaxing them with a few extra minutes of massage!

“It's about time and quality for me. Buying the best products I can and keeping up to date with trends and never thinking I know it all. It's sometimes the littlest treat which make them feel special.”

There is certainly a bright future laid our Lucy and Allure Nails and Beauty as she is already dreaming of the future and where her business will be in 10 years time!

“In my modern bright home salon or self employed with my own high street salon. I love to help others so becoming an educator one day would be lovely!”

Lucy is a very inspiring lady and has over come some tough times to get where she is today! She is an amazing example of a passionate beauty professional who has such a confidence and great personality!

We wish Lucy and Allure Nails and Beauty the biggest luck in the world and make sure you show your support by liking her Business Facebook Page!
